It's entitled Caleb and Zoe, but they are up .
She's getting herself a vocabulary for sure. I don't consider anything she says for real until she says it more than once, so I know it's not a fluke. So far she can say:
mama
dada
drink
thank you
my bed
bada (we think it's brother, since she points to Caleb)
bud (bird)
buh (pointing to book)
ah-jah (angel - she has an angel ornament in her room)
Caleb's vocabulary at roughly this age can be seen here .
I look at Caleb's blog a lot at around the same age as Zoe and it's amazing at how similar they are with what they do. Half the stuff I don't remember Caleb doing, but sure enough, right there in writing I talk about it and I feel better knowing that Zoe is doing what her brother did. Good thing I'm writing this stuff down. LOL
Zoe's Toddler Forecast: Upstairs playing and exploring in her room
Wow, did we ever have a day of shopping!
We started the day at about 12:30 by going to Lunch at Panera Bread. Then, we went to Books-A-Million to get a book for my Aunt, and we stayed there for what seemed like forever because Zoe and Caleb was enjoying the train area for the kids. LOL.
After that, we headed to Oak Park Mall, where Zoe got her first pair of shoes. I'm not really counting it as her first pair because they're the soft ones to help them stand, crawl, whatever. Her REAL pair of shoes will be for walking. She had a great time at the shoe store. Crawling around like she owned the place, loved her shoes, and tried to escape now and then. Then, we went to Gymboree to see what kind of new styles they had for the fall. Let me tell you, they had some CUTE stuff. We'll be going back there for sure. Then, we spent about 2 hours playing at the carousel then at the playground at the mall, and it was so cute to see Zoe in action. She was having a blast.
I have pictures that I took on my phone, but the phone is actually getting an update, so pictures will be up tomorrow.
We got home at about 6:15, had dinner, played for a bit, bath time, then off to bed at 8pm. Whew.
Zoe's Toddler Forecast: Sleeping
My goodness, ever since she's learned how to climb the stairs, she's all over the place. She can go up and down with out issues now and she gets into everything. LOL. I almost can't keep up with her. And, she doesn't listen to me. I'll tell her "no, no, no", but she just looks at me, laughs and goes on about her day. LOL. Boy, am I in trouble I think. ![]()
The good thing though about her being mobile and active as she is, is that I really don't have to worry about where I go. She can now find me, so that's a plus. I can go from room to room and as long as she has a general idea as to where I am, she finds me. Before, I couldn't leave the room without her wailing. LOL.
And with that new found mobility, she's got attitude. ![]()

Give me breakfast...or I jump!
There were so many that not even all of them show up on the 25 recent albums uploaded. LOL. It starts from June 1st to present, so if you want to see the stuff from June 1st on, you'll have to go in Caleb's and Zoe's picture categories.
Zoe's Toddler Forecast: Trying to go to sleep
Got this video last night and was looking forward to getting it on here, but it took forever, and I couldn't get it on here. So, got up early (because Caleb woke up early). LOL.
I love when Caleb takes initiative to play with Zoe. And it is so cute when he does. I didn't get the early parts of this becuase I couldn't find the camera right away, but I got a little bit.
Zoe's Toddler Forecast: Sleeping
Now that we are back home, I was a little worried about how the first night home was going to turn out. Let's just say, its been great. Zoe went down easy, without a fight and snuggled right in after about five minutes. Whew! Dinner, baths, in bed all by 8pm. Now that's what I call proficient. :)
Hoping that she will sleep in late tomorrow, but not really banking on it, mostly because she's asleep early and she'll get up early based on that.
It's good to be home though. Let's hope that everyone sleeps well :)
Zoe's Toddler Forecast: Sleeping
Didn't make it to OKC today. We only got as far as Denton. We took a long lunch and it just went slow from there. We hit Dallas traffic at around 3:30, and it was maddening. Then, I took the wrong turn somewhere and wound up having to backtrack a little bit to get back on to 35. Not about to take back roads to get home. Not my style. :) Besides, mom wants to see the bombing memorial in OKC tomorrow. Chances are, we won't be in KC until Thursday, only because mom wants to take her time at the memorial and we won't get a very early start. Which is fine. We've been doing a lot of driving and frankly, when we stop, I'm pretty much driving when I try to go to sleep. :)
Zoe did a great job on the trip to Denton today. She slept for 2 hours and 20 minutes in the car and she's been a happy girl ever since - well, up until right now when we're trying to get her to sleep. She's had too good of a day and doesn't want to go down. LOL. But, she will. She's tired.
Just love her to pieces though. She's so cuddley and full of personality. Pretty much everyone that meets her says they could eat her up. :) Me included. :)
Hoping for another good day tomorrow from her. We're almost home and looking forward to being back in my own bed, even though the beds we've been sleeping in have been rather comfortable. And with my back as of late, that's important.
Zoe's Toddler Forecast: Trying to go to sleep
Was this drive ever good today. Totally different baby from when we were on our way to SPI. She was happy, she was playing, she slept. It was just an overall good day!
She hate ok today, but she's still taking it slow. She's drinking like a mad woman though. LOL. And that's good. At least she's staying hydrated and that's the most important thing.
She didn't take very long to settle down to bed tonight either, and that's been good. She fussed but nothing like she has over the course of the past few days.
Hoping tomorrow will be a good day as well. We're hoping to get to Oklahoma City tomorrow. A little bit of a longer drive, but that makes for a 5 hour or so drive the next day, so that will be good.
Zoe's Toddler Forecast: Sleeping
I so called it. I really did. And frankly, I love it when I'm right. LOL.
Zoe is completely back to her old self. I figured she would feel better by the weekend and sure enough, she did.
And she welcomed her old self by being a little ham. LOL. She really let her personality shine the past day. It's so cute. Got some videos and some pictures, so looking forward to seeing how they all came out. Hopefully we got some good shots of everything.
Zoe has begun to peel around her nose as well. Hers isn't from the sun though, but rather the wind burn that she got. Shouldn't be too bad though. Caleb and her are definitely twins right now though, as they both got the peeling thing going on.
We didn't get too many pictures of Zoe on the beach at all. One - because she wasn't feeling the greatest earlier on in the vacation, and Two - she would eat the sand and I had to take care of that before she made herself sicker. LOL. So, no pictures of her in the sand or anything like that. Mostly of her in her stroller, or her tent or on Grammy. I tried though, and unfortunately, my only regret was that I couldn't get one shot. :( I'm sure I'll have plenty of opportunities though, but I was so hoping for that first beach shot.
Yesterday we did the pool thing, but she really didn't dig the water. She loved just snuggling and resting and honestly, that's what she needed to catch up from being sick.
She did ok with the ocean waters, but the white caps bothered her and she used the death grip several times. At least we'll have some first vacation shots of her at the beach.
Tomorrow we start the trek back home. Hoping that the ride going home will be better than the ride coming in. Now that she's feeling better, she should do better, but we'll see.
